{a little update and a big surprise}

Hi friends! Here is what I've been up to lately! Drinking lots of beautiful hot chocolate...

...doing some great thrifting, including this adorable deer print...

...made some soup, some banana bread, fixed my stove, and bought the bag I was loving...

...oh, and one other thing... :)

I hope this explains my short absence lately. I was hesitant to share the new so early, as I am only 8 weeks now, and many of you are aware of our last pregnancy and how that went. I shared some about that here. Nicolai and I are excited for this baby, but a little nervous. I decided to share because having the support of our friends and family through out our last pregnancy was price less and it just seems better to share rather than sit quietly, being afraid of what could happen. Instead I want to celebrate this baby, plus the only thing I've been wanting to write about is the baby and baby related things. :) So now that the cat..er..baby is out of the bag, so to speak, let the blogging commence! Another reason I have been so quiet is that I have been pretty sick and tired. All I want to do is sleep and eat...I'm like a baby! It may sound weird but I am excited that I am sick because last time I was pregnant I didn't have any of the normal symptoms. This time I pretty much have them all. I'm taking that as a sign that things are going well in there :)

{Have a great weekend everyone!}

  3. YAY so excited for you! It is a very good sign that you are having morning sickness this time around and are feeling tired--definitely means you got the hormones going and your body is hard at work building that baby for you. I will be praying for you. you will be a great mom! I actually got on your page the other day because I was like I haven't seen anything lately--am I just not getting the updates?! It's totally hard not to share such wonderful news--and its hard to think anything but baby when you are pregnant--you now have all this preparing and buying to do--its lots of fun. Are you going to find out that sex?!

  19. Congratulations!

    I've been following your blog for the past month or two and I read all the way back to the beginning and I read about the first pregnancy. I wish you both nothing but the best. I can honestly say that with my pregnancy I had ALL of the symptoms very early on also and my daughter will be turning two this June. Hang in there and I cannot wait to see all the babies goodies you'll be posting <3

  20. Congratulations Ali! Such wonderful news! It is so encouraging, in a way, to be sick. I've been pregnant four times, the three times I was sick I had beautiful healthy baby girls, the one time I wasn't sick, I miscarried. I will be praying for your baby's health!!

  23. Congratulations! I'm 22 weeks along with my first, and although I don't know your history, we had a miscarriage last year and it took a long time for me to get excited about this pregnancy and to actually start bonding with the baby because I was just so scared. I also decided to share the news early both times and I don't regret it. I pray for health and safety for you and the little one!
